Good evening,

my question is regarding slide 36 in the chapter about vector computers.

In the formula for the case if all instructions refer to same vector length, we can replace L_i_j by L.

Comparing this formula with the example in the following slides and calculations of examples of the exercise, I believe that L should be multiplied with the number of convoys since it occurs n times in the sum.

Yes, you are right, there is a typo. Clearly, if we have a sum like sum_{i=1}^n (a_i+ell) then that is equal to (sum_{i=1}^n a_i) + (sum_{i=1}^n ell) which is equal to (sum_{i=1}^n a_i) + n*ell.
