Hi, I had initially registered for this course and in the latest mail I was instructed to de-register and register again and select the new groups preferences. Unfortunately now after de-registering I am unable to register again. Please let me know as to how to go about it.

There was a limit for the maximal number of students to register set, and while you deregistered, others had registered who were not yet registered so far. Now, the limit has been increased and you should be able to register again.
